  Dr. V. Ramnath (1982 batch), Assoc. Professor, Dept. of Veterinary Physiology, College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy, was awarded with Dr. G. Nirmalan Trust Award for the best Scientific Article by a veterinarian from Kerala State for the year 2008. He received the award for his article entitled "Amelioration of heat stress-induced disturbances in the antioxidant status in chickens by Brahma Rasayana (BR)" published in Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine (eCAM) Journal published by Oxford Journals, UK.  
       
  Congratulations to Dr Gaurav Tyagi (96-Batch) upon his successful completion of the American College of Veterinary Pathology Certification Examination and becoming the Diplomate in ACVP. The American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) is an organization of board-certified scientists that has been setting the standard and promoting excellence in veterinary pathology. Dr Tyagi has also received his PhD from University of illinoi Champagne-urbane in 2009.  
       
  Dr. Manoj Bhaskaran, former doctoral candidate in the Lundberg-Kienlen Lung Biology and Toxicology Laboratory headed by Dr. Lin Liu, has been selected to receive the Experimental Biology (EB) 2009 Liaison with Industry Committee Pre-doctoral Novel Disease Model Award. This award recognizes a pre-doctoral researcher who has developed a new or novel disease model. The award recognizes Bhaskaran's research on the rat model for Bronchopulmonary dysplasia, a disease of pre-term infants.  The winner is selected from an International pool of doctoral candidates and will be presented at the FASEB meeting to be held in New Orleans in April 2009.
